21 Movie Predictions for 2021

Our attempt at making 20 movie and television predictions for 2020 included many swings and misses, which we can largely blame on Covid (though the pandemic actually helped clinch a few). We’re very optimistic heading into 2021, and with all these movies getting delayed, means the upcoming calendar is going to be action packed. So much so that we’re going to include 21 bonus predictions at the bottom, because there’s so much going on that several subjects need to be addressed. 

We are going to allow our #1 prediction from 2020 to carry-over into 2021 (despite technically coming true due to Covid).

 

1. Fast 9 makes less money globally than Hobbs and Shaw.

2. A former Avenger appears in Black Widow

3. Bill Burr gets cast in a Star Wars movie

4. Black Adam highest rated 2021 DC movie on Rotten Tomatoes both by fans & critics 

5. Chris Evans makes Marvel cameo

6. Fantastic 4 teased in the end credits scene of a Marvel movie 

7. Daisy Ridley signs new Star Wars contract

8. The Justice League Snyder Cut gets a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of under 50% 

9. Daredevil appears in a Marvel property

10. Jungle Cruise makes more money globally than Fast 9

11. Magneto makes a cameo in Wandavision

12. Paul Giamatti cast in Spider-Man 3

13. The Rock cameos in Suicide Squad

14. Disney announces and casts a new X-People reboot

15. Vin Diesel gets a Razzie nomination

16. Venom 2 earns less than Spider-Man 3 and gets a rotten tomatoes critics score of under 40%

17. A new force sensitive Skywalker will be introduced in Book of Bubba

18. Spiderman and Venom cross over

19. Fast 9 is the lowest grossing movie in the franchise domestically

20. Shang-Chi gets a Rotten Tomatoes critics score over 70% but will be the lowest grossing Marvel movie
 
21. Sherlock Holmes 3 will get a lower Rotten Tomatoes audience score than any of RDJs Marvel appearances

*Matrix 4 gets a higher Rotten Tomatoes critics score than Fast 9
*Galactus is teased in a Marvel TV/movie property
*We see the Silver Surfer, either in a cameo or trailer
*Adam Driver cast as Reed Richards
*Morbius earns under 60 million opening weekend 
*The Batman (2022) earns 65 million opening weekend
*San Andreas sequel announced  
*Falcon and the Winter Solider will be the highest rated Marvel Disney+ series
*Han Solo makes a cameo
